Breast Reduction Can Also Be Done with Liposuction
The Korean TV drama "Queen Seondeok" was a huge hit. The heroine, Deokman, played her role in a hwarang trainee's uniform until she was finally recognized as a princess and suddenly transformed with a princess's costume and hairstyle. But Lee Yo-won, the actress playing Queen Seondeok, said that after her character became a princess, her head felt so heavy that acting became difficult.
Likewise, there are people who are unhappy because their breasts are large. Their shoulders and neck hurt, daily life is uncomfortable, exercise is especially difficult, and their clothing choices are limited.
Liposuction is another method of breast reduction surgery, and I believe it can turn many of the drawbacks of the excision method into advantages.
Breast reduction is performed far more often in Western countries than in Korea, and recently many papers on breast reduction using liposuction rather than excision have been published, reporting low complication rates and high satisfaction.
The advantages of breast reduction with liposuction are:
- First, because the breast reduction is done without an incision for excision, scarring is minimal and you need not worry much about visible scars.
- Second, there is less pain, and the recovery period is relatively short.
- Third, damage to the mammary glands is minimized, which is a significant advantage for women who are planning to have children or who are unmarried.
- Fourth, your breasts are not reshaped by surgery into a new form you did not want, so you can feel reassured.
- Fifth, liposuction is more affordable than the excision method ^^;
- Sixth, because the glandular tissue of the breast is largely preserved, it is less likely to interfere with breast cancer screening after surgery. And so on...
One drawback is that the breasts cannot be reduced by more than 50%, but a reduction of about half is still a considerable amount, and patient satisfaction tends to be high. Results vary by individual; in general, people with a higher degree of obesity have more fat in their breasts, so the effect is greater. At Venus Clinic, volume is reduced by about 40% on average. In other words, if the breast volume is measured at 1,000 cc, about 400 cc of fat can be removed.
Most people with large breasts struggle with many problems that go beyond appearance, physical, psychological, and social. We hope Venus Clinic can help resolve those concerns.
