Treatment of this area can reduce jean size and create slender, well-defined thighs.

MEDIAL THIGHS

The medial thigh is another area highly requested by women for liposuction. This region is particularly prone to sweating during menstruation and summer, causing discomfort, chafing, and in severe cases, lichenification and skin darkening from chronic friction. The fat in this area contains less fibrous tissue, allowing for rapid and easy suctioning. However, this same characteristic demands extra caution to prevent over-aspiration, which can lead to surface irregularities.

When medial thigh liposuction is combined with inner knee treatment, it creates a beautiful, straight inner contour from the thigh to the calf, giving the appearance of longer legs.

LATERAL THIGHS = SADDLE BAGS

The lateral thigh is a characteristically female fat deposit area, directly related to hormonal influences. This region responds poorly to dieting and injectable fat-dissolving treatments. Known as "saddle bags," this area protrudes outward when wearing jeans, detracting from the aesthetic appearance and making legs appear shorter.

When there is significant fat accumulation on the outer buttocks, the added weight exacerbates the saddle bag protrusion. In such cases, combining buttock liposuction produces more effective and aesthetically pleasing results. However, saddle bag liposuction can also be performed as a standalone mini liposuction procedure.

However, excessive fat removal can create an overly flat lateral contour that appears unfeminine. A naturally feminine thigh features a gentle outward convexity from above the gluteal fold, creating the appearance of longer legs with an appealing apple-shaped lateral silhouette. ILB - INFERIOR LATERAL BUTTOCKS

Removing fat from the lateral and inferior buttock region causes the buttock to centralize and creates the visual effect of longer legs. This is commonly called the "hip-up effect," though "buttock-up effect" is the more accurate term. The procedure transforms a sagging buttock into an upward-projecting, aesthetically appealing shape.

Additionally, reducing the inferior lateral buttock diminishes saddle bag protrusion on the lateral thigh, as the weight of the lower buttock fat contributes to lateral thigh bulging. Therefore, this area is often treated simultaneously to reduce outer thigh protrusion.

MEDIAL KNEES

Medial knee fat pads are more prominent in Asians than in Westerners. They make legs appear shorter and bow-legged when wearing miniskirts. This area is colloquially called the "Chanel line" because the bilateral protrusion resembles the Chanel logo.

1. Indications

;Patients with overall thick thighs but relatively small buttocks who desire thigh size reduction along with a balanced, natural hip line. Liposuction of the supra-patellar area or medial knees can be selected based on individual body characteristics.

2. Design

;Choose circumferential thighs (excluding knees) combined with either inferior lateral buttocks or medial knees. Including the inferior lateral buttocks is recommended for patients whose buttocks are relatively small compared to the thighs and who have buttock sagging, desiring a hip-up effect. If the buttocks are proportionally large, total buttock liposuction should be considered.

Including medial knees is recommended for patients with relatively small, non-sagging buttocks who desire a smooth, straight inner thigh contour (Chanel line).
